HOSPITALS/HEALTH CARE
Quality health care is essential
for all of us. We are fortunate that the
Hudson Valley has outstanding hospitals
and medical personnel. Senator Saland
has worked closely with all of the area
hospitals and continues to provide
funding to enhance the quality of care
that meets the changing and growing
demands of health care. Senator
Saland has secured more than $4,480,000
in grants for local hospitals and health
related organizations.
Senator Saland sponsors an annual senior
citizens fair, the Golden Gathering,
which brings together numerous
exhibitors with an emphasis on health
care and services for the elderly.
Between the two counties, Dutchess and
Columbia, more than 1500 seniors benefit
annually from the events and the health
screenings. Senator Saland has been
hosting the Golden Gatherings for
fifteen years, which are always free to
the senior population - thanks to his
ability to garner the financial support
of area businesses for such worthy
endeavors.
